I have been a councillor since getting elected for Landore ward in 2012. I am actively involved in the Hafod community. I am governor on both Hafod and Plasmarl primary schools. I am on the management committee of Hafod Community Centre, and run a parent and toddler group there.
In my role as councillor I also sit on two other bodies, namely Caer Las Cymru, which is a registered charity dedicated to tackling the cause and effect of social exclusion, and Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education, which looks into the provision of religious education.
This year, 2016-17, I have the privilege of being Lady Mayoress to the Lord Mayor, my husband Cllr David Hopkins.
I am married with three three grown up children and five grandchildren.
