I am the grand daughter and daughter of miners. I was born in a house at the edge of Clyne Woods and remember life without electricity and mains water. I have lived in Loughor with my husband Mac for 34 years, where we raised our son, Harding.
I have had a variety of jobs, working in the private sector, third sector and civil service for more than 30 years in a variety of different roles and government departments. I became County Councillor for Lower Loughor in 2008.
I have also served as a Town Councillor for many years. I support local groups and work to the best of my ability to represent and serve the people of my ward and the wider community. I stood down as Deputy Leader of the Council and Cabinet Member for children’s services following the 2017 local elections. I firmly believe in the UN convention on the rights of children and that all children have the right to be become the best they can be.
