I have lived in West Cross since 1966, and am currently living in Southlands Drive. I have two married sons who each have three children.
I worked as a research technician at Swansea University for 35 years. I served as a Justice of the Peace for more than 30 years.
I have been a councillor for approximately 40 years, having served on successive city councils as well as West Glamorgan County Council. I have represented West Cross since 1989.
In 1996/7 I was the first Lord Mayor of the City and County of Swansea Council.
Currently, I am the council’s presiding member, that is I chair council meetings, and I am the deputy cabinet member for education. I am also chair of the Education & Young People’s Cabinet Advisory Committee, and I chair the council’s Constitution Working Group and its Appeals & Awards Committee.
I am a member of both the Finance & Performance Improvement Scrutiny Committee and Young People’s Scrutiny Committee.
