I was elected as a councillor for Cockett Ward in the by-election in 2015 and re-elected in 2017. I have been very privileged to serve the residents of a large and diverse ward, working together with the other councillors.

I was brought up and educated in Swansea; I left to study medicine in London in 2002, returning home to Swansea to start work in Morriston Hospital in 2009.  Since then I have continued to work as a doctor working in Swansea and recently Carmarthenshire, undertaking training as a psychiatrist.  I live in Swansea with my partner.

Having been a member of the Labour Party since I was 16, I share its values of social justice and opportunity for all regardless of background, and I am very keen that we hold this ethos in Swansea.  Within my ward I believe it is important to allow community groups to grow and empower them to make a difference in the community, giving support to this as councillor team.
