@fionamgordon

I was elected in 2012. As as a teacher and mother I have an interest in matters affecting children and young people. As such, I have taken a lead on scrutiny of education, in Swansea and in the region. I chair scrutiny panels investigating varied aspects impacting on school performance. Poverty is a critical one, and I will work towards reducing the impact of this on people’s life chances in Swansea. I am concerned about equality, promote the diversity of our city and county and work towards increased opportunity for all.  I work with community groups to promote parks and use of open space, for health and wellbeing as well as community cohesion. I aim to protect and promote Castle ward, including the communities that live in it as well as those who work in it and visit it.
