Gloria J Tanner

Councillor

Electoral Ward: Mynyddbach

I was born in Bonymaen and now living in Clase. Although my family were not political they always voted Labour.

I am a retired civil servant who joined a Trade Union from the outset in 1978. Soon after joining the Union I decided that the Labour Party was the party representing my views and I joined.

I became active in my Union – PCS – representing members at branch, regional and National level. I retired in 2007, but continued my union membership in the retired members section. While working I attended Labour ward meetings, supporting the party with campaigns and distributing leaflets.

Retirement gave me more time to support the party and with the support of my ward members I decided to stand as a Labour Candidate.

I was elected a Councillor in 2012 and have concentrated on building support for Labour throughout the ward in an attempt to bring about improvements for residents.

I hope to be re selected to stand as a Labour Candidate in 2017.
