Councillor

Electoral Ward: Penderry

Cllr.Terry.Hennegan@swansea.gov.uk

I have lived with my wife Angela and raised our family in Blaenymaes in the ward of Penderry for approximately 40 years for which I was elected to serve at the 2012 elections.

I got involved more than 20 years ago with the problem of PRC (pre-cast concrete) homes which were deemed defective. I am a founder member of BPT&R association, later to be Blaenymaes and Portmead Community Association of which I have been secretary for about 20 years.

My path took me to housing, families, community involvement and participation and this led to me becoming chairman of the Welsh Tenants Federation, chairman of the South West region of WTF and have been elected every year onto the management committee of WTF each year for the past 14 years.

I am the longest serving director and longest serving chairman in the history of the Welsh Tenants Federation.

My interests include playing football for teams such as BYM FC, Prescelli, Cadle FC and have also done run a marathon. I am also interested in helping people and the most important people I meet are my constituents.

In the future I wish to play a major part in restoring and building council houses and for everyone to have decent, affordable, healthy home and environment.

I have also been up to London to represent the City and County of Swansea as we were nominated for an award for our Governance and Scrutiny.
