Kind-hearted Swansea Labour councillors in Llansamlet have been putting on entertainment for all the family in their ward throughout the summer holidays.
Now the councillors – Ryland Doyle, Penny Matthews, Alyson Pugh and Mo Sykes – are putting on a big summer finale at Birchgrove Community Centre on Tuesday, August 27 between 1pm and 4pm.
The free afternoon for families will include a barbeque, community visits from the fire service and police, kids entertainment including a disco, bouncy castle and a turn from Roly Poly Entertainment.
“We have put on these free community days all summer but the one on August 27 will be the finale and hopefully the community will come out and support like they have all the others,” said Cllr Pugh.
As well as fun days for the family the four Llansmalet councillors have been organising special free lunch clubs over the school holidays.
Over the past couple of years the councillors have identified a problem in their ward concerning ‘holiday hunger’ and are helping those families and others who are struggling to make ends meet.
