Mynyddbach’s Labour councillors Mike Lewis and Gloria Tanner and Labour candidate for Mynyddbach Samuel Pritchard met with Mi Space managers this week to discuss improvements to buildings in their ward. This will include sponsorship of work on Clase Community Centre.
Mi Space is one of the companies working on refurbishing council homes across Swansea. It is part of the Welsh Housing Quality Standard programme, which will see council tenants in Mynyddbach receiving new kitchens and bathrooms over the coming months.
“Mi Space held a successful open day on February 8 in the Clase Community Centre where tenants could attend and watch a presentation of the future works project,” said Cllr Tanner.
“It proved so successful that Mi Space have booked a further open day on May 11 at the Community Centre from 1pm through to 6pm. Those tenants who for various reasons could not attend in February will have a further opportunity to attend.”
Mi Space staff together with ward Councillors and Council Officers will be in attendance to answer any questions tenants may have.
“At the meeting today Mi Space agreed to sponsor work in the Community Centre. The work will take place in December and will include refurbishment of the centre’s toilets,” said Cllr Mike Lewis.
“Your Mynyddbach Labour Councillors are delighted with this offer from MiSpace, as are the residents and council tenants of Mynyddbach.”
“There has been some refurbishment carried out already by sponsorship by Lloyds bank,” said Samuel Pritchard. “The Centre’s Committee have said they will continue to work hard with full support from the ward Councillors to ensure that we have a Community Centre to be proud of in the years to come.”
