There are no changes to kerbside waste collections. As happens throughout the year, we sometimes are unable to complete collections during the day. If this happens and your recycling has not been collected – please leave your bags out for collection the following day. Also – you may notice our crews are wearing protective face masks while they are carrying out their duties. This is to ensure they can protect themselves when inside the collection vehicles.
Parks and beaches
You should only use a park, beach or rural footpath to exercise if you live within walking distance and remember the instructions about social distancing. Do not meet or walk together in groups unless you live with those people. Keep a safe distance from other people – at least two metres away. If the park or beach is so busy that you’re unable to maintain that distance, then leave and go home. Playgrounds within parks are closed. You should not allow your children to use them.
Hubs at schools
Hubs at schools continue to remain open to provide childcare where both parents are key workers.
Staff and pupils at the schools must follow the UK Government’s latest advice in relation to social distancing. We will continue to provide free school meals with new measures in place to protect pupils.

City Centre Rangers
From today our city centre rangers are doing fewer foot patrols to help curtail the spread of coronavirus.
The Rangers are largely working on office duties although they will assist the emergency services when needed at incidents critical to public safety.
They will report on issues such as hazards and other concerns and receive calls from businesses via the Store-net radio or by phone.
