West Cross ward councillor surgeries have returned to face-to-face consultations after more than a year online because of the pandemic.
Labour councillors Mark Child and Des Thomas are back at West Cross Community Centre every Monday between 6pm and 7pm to listen to residents’ concerns.
“We are delighted to be able to re-start our weekly surgeries when anyone can see us, bringing problems, opinions or ideas,” said Cllr Des Thomas.
“Over the last year we have had to rely on phone calls, e-mails, and Zoom, but there is no substitute for face-to-face contact.”
Added Cllr Child: “We’ve been providing councillor surgeries for as long as I have bene a councillor – 20 years and before that.
“And it’s a reliable feature of the service we provide the community of West Cross. I’m just delight that Cllr Thomas and I can restart the surgeries in the West Cross Community Centre.”
Cllrs Child and Thomas say that all surgeries will adhere to current Covid guidelines and protocols.
