Below is a list of events at Townhill Library this summer. All events are free.

Summer Reading Challenge – Starts Saturday 16th July – Saturday 17th Sept

Are you up to the challenge? Join up for our Roald Dahl-themed ‘Big Friendly Read’ – read six books over the summer holidays to collect stickers and rewards, enter competitions, play games, and more. All for FREE!

Rhymetime – every Monday 2.15pm-2.45pm

Songs, stories and rhymes suitable to under 5s.

Craft Club –  every Monday 3.30pm-5.00pm

A selection of arts, crafts, painting, nail art, and more! A different activity every week.

Minecraft Club – every Tuesday & Wednesday throughout July 4.00pm-5.00pm

Create your own minecraft house or work with others to  create a village.

Colouring Club – every Thursday 4.00pm-5.00pm

Discover the calming qualities of colouring. Colouring is the new therapy, helping to de-stress both mind and body. Suitable for all ages.

Mad Science with C1st – Tuesday 26th July – 2.30pm-3.30pm

A special event filled with explosions, experiments and more – you won’t want to miss it!

Morriston Young People Group – Thursday 28th July – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Gloriumptious, Whoppsy-whiffling, Hopscotchy and Jumbly Giant painting event with Morriston Young People Group. Join us outside to paint the BFG and other Roald Dahl characters to make a display for the library.

Dahlicious Dress Up Party – Tuesday 2nd August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Dress up as your favourite Roald Dahl character and join our party.  Listen to stories from Revolting Rhymes and make your own BFG giant ears! Party games and crafts.  Prize for best dressed.

Glass jar painting with CCS Recycling Team – Thursday 4th August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Learn all about recycling and then design and paint a glass jar to take home.

Language & Play event – Tuesday 9th August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

A special event for under 5s to create and explore, with stories, songs and rhymes.

Science in a box with S4 Project Swansea University – Thursday 11th August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Boats that (hopefully) float. Are you a budding scientist? Have you ever wondered why somethings float and others don’t.  Join us for a fun filled afternoon of interactive demonstrations. Tickets only – please ring 01792 512370 to register.

Cat Protection talk & craft event – Tuesday 16th August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

A special event from Cats Protection with advice on looking after your cat, stories and crafts.  Donations of blankets and food would be appreciated. Tickets only.

Phizz-Whizzingly Fantastic Mr. Fox Tale and Craft (ages 5-10) – Tuesday 23rd August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Join us to take part in an activity honouring this year’s Summer Reading Challenge “The Big Friendly Read” and all things Roald Dahl.  Listen to excerpts from the Fantastic Mr. Fox and make your own Mr. Fox puppet to bring home. Don’t be a Snozzcumber, it’ll be Jumpsquiffling!! Dress up as your favourite Roald Dahl character.

Pi – make a balloon pop with Pi (ages 10+) – Thursday 25th August – 2.30pm – 3.30pm

Learn to programme using a Pi! Watch how you can make a Raspberry Pi pop balloons, then have a go yourself – create a sweet shop game, make a jelly baby scream or build a beeping, flashing robot! Tickets only.

Techno Lego Camp – Tuesday 30th August – 2.30pm-3.30pm

Learn how to program the robot to follow a line, it can be as straight or as squiggly as you like followed by robot football. Tickets only.

PCSO fun crafts & dressing up – TBC

Meet your local Police Community Support Officers for games, finger printing and dressing up fun.
