Bonymaen ward’s two Labour councilors Mandy Evans and Paul Lloyd have been reselected to fight the ward in the May council elections.
Councillors Lloyd and Evans have celebrated several key successes during their current term, including the completion of the cycle path along Swansea Vale railway line, the installation of new play equipment in Bonymaen Park and improved leisure facilities at Cefn Hengoed Community School. They have also supported their local food bank.
Road safety improvements have been another key achievement.
“Following concern from residents we have worked to bring about safety improvements at the Colwyn Avenue shops bus stop and Caldicot Road junctions with Caernarvon Way, Caldicot Close and Chirk Gardens,”” said Cllr Lloyd. “Yellow lines at the junctions will prevent parking which causes chaos around school drop off & pick up times. ”
Both councillors are keen to continue to work for their ward for another term.
“How quick time flies. Since May 2012, Paul and I have worked with the community, pushing forward requests from Bonymaen ward constituents,” said Cllr Evans. “Some have been quick fixes where other requests have taken longer to resolve.
“We enjoy representing Bonymaen ward, and have built strong relationships within the community. Paul and I both strive to enhance the opportunities within Bonymaen ward, we understand the needs and demands of the community, we both have and will continue to fight for our constituents.”
