Your St Thomas Labour Councillors - working for you

Our Pledges -

  • Standing up for St Thomas: We will work with Welsh Water to address issues and reach a solution regarding the pollution from the sewage treatment works.

  • Safer communities: We will work with the police and other organisations to tackle anti-social behaviour and crime within St Thomas and the Eastside Community

  • Investing in our parks and play area: We will continue to invest and deliver improvements to our parks and green spaces across St Thomas Ward. We will commit to enclose Monkey Park in Port Tennant

  • Protecting bus services: We will work to lobby First Cymru for improvement across the Eastside Community and work with the Labour Council and Welsh Government to ensure St Thomas benefits from the new metro developments

  • Parking for Residents: We will work to introduce zoned parking for additional areas within the Ward, protecting parking for residents

  • Cleaner communities: We will fund a dedicated operative to clear litter, remove weeds, and keep our streets clean. We will also install new bins across the ward

A bit about the ward …

Great news for residents of St Thomas and Port Tennant…your Labour team is pleased to confirm that following many years of campaigning the Tir John landfill will be closing for good. This is the result of extensive lobbying and discussions by your current local Labour councillors. The recycling centre will however remain open which should also come as good news for residents. The site is being considered as a location for a new solar farm which will generate clean energy for Swansea.
